IndyGo riders are pushing back on a proposed fare hike—the first in 15+ years. A single ride would jump from $1.75 to $2.75 in 2026, with paratransit and other passes also affected. “This fare increase will hit my community the hardest,” one rider said.

The severe storms and tornado watches prompted weather warning sirens to be sounded.

Although there are some connection issues and electricity challenges, we are here at the meeting recording it all.

Thanks for staying with us!

IndyGo unveiled its fare collection and fare adjustment system to replace the outdated systems.

Fixed route pricing would go from $1.75 to $2.75, IndyGo Access from $3.50 to $5.50 in the ADA area, and paratransit services from $7.00 to $11.00, and same-day trips from $10.00 to $15.00 if approved.

A series of public hearings have been scheduled to hear from the community about these proposed fare changes. If the changes are approved after these meetings, they will take affect on 1/1/2026.

The next public hearing will take place later in this meeting.

Ridership growth has been fairly robust as IndyGo saw a 20% increase in fixed route ridership in 2023 as compared to 2022.

To plan a trip, IndyGo riders can use the transit app, Google Maps, or IndyGo’s website.
